The Voice Slide focuses on using our voices to uplift ourselves and each other, and spread joy. Like a flame, our voices can transform and ignite positive change, but also have the potential to be destructive if not used with care. Music is a strong and connecting force, and I have woven layers of symbolism into the Voice design: in addition to the overall flame shape, there is musical symbolism in the 5 lines of a musical staff and the stylized swirl of Beethoven’s hand-written treble clef (which I also imagined as the swell of our own voices rising up). The act of uplifting can look like celebration, like protest, like praise, like support, like expression and compassion; this Voice design is made to encourage any or all of those ways of raising our well-being as individuals and as communities.
