Viking Hoard Ring sterling silver
Viking Hoard Ring sterling silver
Our interpretation of a 9th century gold Anglo-Saxon ring recently discovered in a Viking hoard in England. (You can Google the New Yorker Magazine article about it’s discovery and some history). The center three motifs are carved as direct reproductions of the original, while I used a motif taken from a different ring of similar culture & time period for the outer ‘facets’. So ancient it feels fresh. I love tying layers of history together!
This ring is 8mm wide and has a very solid feel. Originally made as a men’s ring but of course great for anyone who wants a chunky history-inspired ring! Our version is actually less hefty than the original high-karat gold (also pictured for reference only), can you imagine how heavy that one must feel? The Viking Hoard ring is standard and in stock in size 10, available to order in sizes 8.5-12 (may take 2-4 weeks to process other sizes).
